Thank you to Emily @ The Little Book Affair for nominating me! How fun!

  1. I can’t function without coffee. It’s a problem…I’m aware.
  2. I’m a bit of a British history buff. I have books on the history of the royal family, castles, British architecture…the whole lot. If you watch a movie about the British royal family with me…it’s like the old 90’s pop up music videos. I just randomly bust out facts.
  3. My favorite word is “delightful.”
  4. I have an obsession with making sure everyone is happy.
  5. My favorite color has been yellow since…well, my whole life.
  6. I can quote all of the Harry Potter movies.
  7. I only have to hear a song once or twice before I know the lyrics.
  8. It’s a pet peeve of mine when people can’t get there, they’re, and their right.
  9. My lucky number is 47. No joke, I see that number at least once every single day.
  10. I’m a textbook introvert.
  11. I collect the “You Are Here” Starbucks mugs.

Questions from Emily:

  1. What’s your favorite holiday? I love Christmas and everything about it. I”m that person that’s ready to listen to Christmas music the second we clean up our Thanksgiving meal.
  2. How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike? I think I was probably in the 3rd grade…that may also be the last time I rode a bike. Ha!
  3. What is/was your favorite subject in school? My favorite subject in school was English…now I spend all day, every day teaching it!
  4. Do you sleep with a light in your room or with it pitch black? I have to have some kind of light. I’m one of those people. Growing up, it was the closet light that had to be on. Now, there are street lights outside my window…so that works for me.
  5. What’s your Harry Potter house? I’m a Hufflepuff, through and through.
  6. What was the highlight of your year? I had some professional highlights this year…lots of encouraging moments in my teaching career this year!
  7. Do you like reading or writing more? I probably like reading a little more than writing.
  8. Do you believe in soul mates? I do, actually. I had a conversation with a friend about this recently. For some reason, I think I need to believe in soul mates.
  9. What do you miss most about being a child? I miss the naivety – being completely unaware of the struggles in life.
  10. What’s the first thing you do when you wake up? I make coffee…I can’t even think without it.
  11. If you could invite any fictional character over to your house for coffee/tea, which fictional character would you choose and why? I would kill to have a cup of tea with Hermione. She was like my idol growing up. She was smart and brave and gutsy…I wanted to be just like her.

Fall Time Cozy Book Tag

crown of midnight

Crunching Leaves: The world is full of color. Choose a book that has reds, oranges and yellows on the cover.

If you haven’t read this series (Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas) then you haven’t lived. Stop, drop, and roll on towards your bookstore/library of choice and pick it up!

fangirl

Cozy Sweater: It’s finally cold enough to don warm cozy clothing. What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Fangirl gives me all of the feels. I have a feeling I’ll read this book every year forever and ever amen.

tearling

Fall Storm: The wind is howling and the rain is pounding. Choose your favorite book OR genre that you like to read on a stormy day.

Fantasy is typically my go-to genre and The Queen of the Tearling is exactly the kind of book I’d want to read if I’m cooped up inside all day. It has everything – action, adventure, romance, political drama…plus, it has a sequel! So if you get stuck in for a few days, you’re all set!

belle

Cool Crisp Air: Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

I think Harper from Rebel Belle is awesome. She’s witty and fierce…plus, Paladin powers seem awesome. If I traded places with Harper, I’d have super powers, but honestly not that much danger. That sounds like a great trade-off.

a voice in the wind

Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

Francine Rivers is one of my all-time favorite writers and this series is in.cred.i.ble. Seriously. This is a trilogy that takes place in Ancient Rome during the time period when Christians were persecuted. I re-read this series every couple of years. I wish everyone had read it so I had more people to discuss it with! So…read it!

angus, thongs

Coat, Scarves, and Mittens: The weather has turned cold and it’s time to cover up. What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?

I chose this book because it’s the title, as opposed to the cover itself, that I hide from people. Ha!

Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favorite fall time comfort food/foods? During the fall, you can usually find me with a hot cup of licorice tea or some taco soup. (Not together, though…yuck.)

Happy reading! – Caitlyn
